Amended, COVID-19 booking & cancellation policy

This policy only applies to bookings that has been affected by a Legitimate COVID-19 Condition.
Please refer to below points, clarifying what constitutes a Legitimate COVID-19 Cancellation Condition.
This policy will remain valid, until no further COVID-19 Conditions apply.
We reserve the right to amend this policy without prior notice.

Existing bookings;

All existing bookings due to travel in 2020, may be postponed to 2021.
2020 Rates will be honoured
No deposit is required in advance
Full payment is required 14 days prior to arrival
Any bookings cancelled due to a COVID-19 qualifying condition, are fully refundable if cancelled up to 48 hours prior to arrival
Refunds will be made in ZAR, less any bank charges incurred
Any bookings cancelled within 48 hours prior to arrival, a full credit will be held for future bookings.

New bookings; excluding operators & agents

Advance bookings require a 50% deposit payment, 21 days prior to arrival
Bookings made within 21 days prior to arrival, 50% deposit payable immediately
The balance of payment is required on the day of arrival
Any bookings cancelled due to a COVID-19 qualifying condition, are fully refundable if cancelled up to 48 hours prior to arrival
Refunds will be made in ZAR, less any bank charges incurred
Any bookings cancelled within 48 hours prior to arrival, a full credit will be held for future bookings.

Legitimate COVID-19 Cancellation Conditions:

Guest’s country of residence imposes travel restrictions on the guest’s destinations, or restricts travel which has a direct impact on the guest’s travel plans
South Africa closes their borders to international travellers or specifically from the guest’s country of residence.
South Africa’s government officially sanctions lockdown
International flights are cancelled, with no alternative route available to reach South Africa
South Africa imposes a mandatory quarantine period for guests
Guest’s country of residence imposes a mandatory quarantine period
A COVID-19 related travel advisory is imposed by the guest’s country of residence
A guest has contracted COVID-19 and is in quarantine or is receiving medical treatment up to 48 hours prior to travel.  Supportive documentation will be required

VERY IMPORTANT

Cancellations resulting from fear of contracting COVID-19, or the prevalence of comorbidities will not constitute legitimate grounds for waiver of cancellation fees
Should the listed qualifying COVID-19 conditions not be present, Eikendal Lodge’s Standard Cancellation Policies will apply.

STANDARD Cancellation Policy; (excluding operators & agents)

Cancellations 21 days prior arrival - NO Cancellation Fee
Cancellations between 20 – 14 days prior arrival – 50 % Cancellation Fee
Cancellations between 13 – 8 days prior arrival – 75 % Cancellation Fee
Cancellations between 7 - 0 days prior arrival (or failure to arrive) – 100 % Cancellation Fee
Refunds will be made in ZAR, less any bank charges incurred

Standard payment & cancellation policy;  (operators & agents only)

Full payment required 30 days prior to arrival
Cancellations between 30 - 21 days prior arrival – 0 % Cancellation Fee
Cancellations between 20 – 14 days prior arrival – 50 % Cancellation Fee
Cancellations between 13 – 8 days prior arrival – 75 % Cancellation Fee
Cancellations between 7 - 0 days prior arrival (or failure to arrive) – 100 % Cancellation Fee

Any bookings cancelled due to a COVID-19 qualifying condition, are fully refundable if cancelled up to 7 days prior to arrival
Refunds will be made in ZAR, less any bank charges incurred
Any bookings cancelled due to a COVID-19 qualifying condition, within 48 hours prior to arrival, a full credit will be held for future bookings.  NO Refund will apply.
